About Charlton, GA

Charlton County was created by the Georgia General Assembly on February 18, 1854.  It was originally part of Camden County.  The county is 782 square miles, of which 1.1% is water.  The majority of the land is part of the Okefenokee Swamp and National Wildlife Refuge.  Over 12,000 Georgians call Charlton County home.
